UNIFORM

Uniform Theatre is an Edmonton-based non-profit dedicated to bold, high-quality musical theatre. Since our rebrand in 2017, we’ve produced award-winning shows—including multiple Sterling Award wins—and built a reputation for sold-out, 5-star Fringe runs. What started in 2012 as a scrappy group of MacEwan Theatre Arts grads has grown into a vibrant company that champions both emerging and professional artists. Now, we’re taking the next big step: launching our very first full season of exciting, innovative musicals!

Our Staff

Mackenzie Tennessen, Artistic Director and Founder

Mackenzie is an Edmonton based musician, musical director, producer, and arts administrator. She is graduate of MacEwan University's Theatre Arts Program. Musical Directing credits include: Assassins, LIZZIE, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee for Uniform Theatre; Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Baba Yaga, Pinocchio for Alberta Musical Theatre Company; Evil Dead, Spring Awakening for SatCo.; Hadestown (Teen Edition), Mean Girls, Ride the Cyclone, Head Over Heels, Big Fish, Footloose, Rent, The Addams Family for Scona Theatre Co., Zanna, Don't!, Ordinary Days, Songs for a New World, I Love You Because for Three Form Theatre. Everything she does is for her beautiful daughter, Charlotte her golden retriever Barry Dogilow, and the Treasurer of the Board!

Our Board


Kandice Laurie, President

Kandice is an educator, avid theatre lover, and bookworm. She has been involved with Uniform Theatre since 2017 and is excited to see what more this company will do. Previous Stage Manager credits with Uniform include: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Xanadu (co-produced with STACo.), Ride the Cyclone (co-produced with STACo.), High School Musical, and Assassins. Kandice’s love of theatre was inspired by passionate teachers, and she hopes to inspire her own students' enthusiasm for artistic and academic endeavours alike. A long-time supporter of Edmonton’s independent arts scene, Kandice is passionate about Uniform Theatre's vision, a place where artists celebrate the joy of storytelling through musical theatre.

Dustyn Tennessen, Treasurer

We love Dustyn, but unfortunately he has yet to send me his headshot and bio, so here is a lovely drawing :)

Robyn Clark, Director

"Robyn Clark (she/they) is a Métis emerging theatre artist and administrator from Sikóóhkotok (Lethbridge) currently residing in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). She is a member of MacEwan University's first graduating class of the Music Theatre Performance BFA program.

Robyn is passionate about building safe and inclusive theatre environments, and their goal is to create theatre that advocates for accessibility and builds community. They recently founded Background Noise Theatre, an independent theatre company that is working to facilitate performance opportunities for emerging, underrepresented, and marginalized theatre artists and assist them in discovering and expressing their complex and marginalized artistic identities.They also enjoy collecting double-decker teapots, facts about municipal elections, and Light Rail Transit systems."


Damon Pitcher, Vice President

Damon is a graduate of MacEwan University's Theatre Arts Program and is a multidisciplinary performer in Edmonton. He has had the opportunity to perform in many previous Uniform Theatre productions such as Triassic Parq, Ride the Cyclone, and Cry Baby and is thrilled to be able to serve on Uniform Theatre’s board to help usher Uniform’s vision into the future. 

Logan Stefura, Director

Logan Stefura (They/Them) is a Sterling nominated costume designer living and working in Edmonton. Logan has been a part of the Uniform family since Xanadu in 2018 and is thrilled to join the board. Fun fact: Logan saw Uniform's production of Spelling Bee 5 times!

Kaitlyn Stang, Director

Kaitlyn is a director, educator, and sound designer from Amiskwaciwâskahikan. She is passionate about accessibility and creating room for marginalized voices to be heard onstage. Kaitlyn is new to Uniform and is honoured to work with the brilliant minds on the board to create new and exciting opportunities for artists in the Edmonton independent theatre scene. 

Select credits include: The Tamer Tamed (Assistant Director, Walterdale Playhouse), The Moors (Assistant Director, Studio Theatre), Corinthians (Director, New Works Festival), Pepperoni and Cheese (Director, NextFest), …and others (Director, Edmonton Fringe Festival).

Training: BA Drama/BEd Secondary (University of Alberta, 2026), Frantic Assembly ISS: Devised Theatre Residency (2026).

Lucas Paterson, Secretary

Lucas is a feral rat hybrid that dragged itself out of the North Saskatchewan directly onto the stage. He is a graphic designer by day, and theater lover by night. When not producing the extremely gay Oh, Henny! cabaret, you may find him horizontal in an iron lung.

Karen Parker, Director

Karen's day job involves wrangling data for the City of Edmonton, but her love for the stage - and musicals in particular - sparked way back in high school when she worked as a theatre usher in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario (the highlight undoubtedly being the dozen times she got to watch Les Mis). As an avid theatregoer who has called Edmonton home for the past 16 years, she's thrilled to bring her lifelong passion to the Uniform Theatre board.
